Biodiversity Day Virtual Panel Discussion 2024

On 24 May 2024, GLOBALG.A.P. c/o FoodPLUS GmbH will host a live online panel discussion as part of an early celebration of the United Nations International Day of Biological Diversity.

Titled “Be Part of the Plan: How can responsible and resilient farming practices promote and protect biodiversity?”, the panel discussion aims to draw public attention to the importance of biodiversity through an insightful discussion and exchange on one of the most pressing environmental issues of our time.

Discussion topics

Facilitated by GLOGALG.A.P. representative Rene Capote, the virtual panel discussion provides an accessible platform to engage a cross-section of industry representatives.

In a comprehensive exploration of biodiversity protection measures, the discussion will cover topics relating to voluntary certification schemes, aspects of the UN’s “Biodiversity Plan”, and more. There will also be a short Q&A session for audience members to participate in.

Don’t miss this opportunity to gain new insights and learn from our expert panelists:

  • Marion Hammerl - President of Global Nature Fund

  • Philipp Wagnitz - Lidl International Director of Quality and Sustainability

  • Rene Capote - GLOBALG.A.P. Senior Technical Expert

  • More panelists to be confirmed

We look forward to seeing you there!

About the UN International Day of Biological Diversity:

The theme of this year’s UN International Day of Biological Diversity (22 May 2024) is “Be Part of the Plan,” calling on stakeholders from around the world to and take action to halt and reverse the loss of biodiversity, namely by supporting the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, also known as the “Biodiversity Plan.”
